По следам беседы с [livejournal.com profile] m_w озадачилась вопросом -
почему в иврите ударения перекочёвывают с последнего слога на первый: Хаим (имя), Моше, Хайфа, Ришон и т.д.
Эй, грамотные, у кого идеи есть?
